First the animals die, then the people

Bones of dead animals on the outskirts of Goobweyn, a village south of Luglow. An estimated 700,000 camels, cows, goats, sheep and cattle have died during the drought in just two months, according to Save the Children. Somalia is hit by the worst drought in 40 years. Hundreds of thousands have left their homes in search of food and water, carrying sick and starving children to camps already overcrowded by those escaping the country’s protracted violence.
