Feast of St. Sebastian of Jackson

Loaves of bread are placed on a table for blessing during the Slava (feast) of St. Sebastian of Jackson, California, founder of the first Serbian Orthodox church in the Western Hemisphere, St. Sava Church. St. Sebastian who founded the church in 1894 was the first Orthodox Christian Priest ordained in America but went to seminary school in Russia. The bread which will be blessed an anointed with wine and represents the bread of life.
