Fast Boomerang
Perched on a high branch of a leafless tree, the lilac-breasted roller used its powerful eyesight to detect a large locust on the tall savanna grass below in Amboseli National Park. The roller, regarded as one of Africa’s loveliest birds, swooped down like a fast boomerang and expertly caught the short-horned grasshopper.
