Eye on the Prize
The alpha female of a pack of rare African Wild Dogs in Mana Pools in Zimbabwe stares straight at me one evening after she woke up the rest of her pack to begin the evening hunt. Wild dogs are incredibly social animals and this moment occurred just as the dog pack where beginning to move and play before heading off to hunt on the nearby floodplain. The endangered status of these creatures means that Zimbabwe is one of the last places possible to see them in the wild.
