17th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest The American Experience
Ever Watchful
This was from my 1st trip to DC. As so many other I had to see the Lincoln memorial. Once there, I was disappointed by the sheer number of people and generic look of this amazing president. But, by walking around I saw this angle and felt not only the drama but the weight of Lincoln's prescence. It took on a whole new life and I could feel the gravity of this momunumental figure.
