My most recent visit to Amboseli National Park (in October 2022) was, in equal parts, exhilarating and distressing. Exhilarating – as it always is, with so much beauty to behold. But distressing, because the area has now had no rain for over two years. Carcasses of animals which have succumbed to the drought litter the savannah and the dryness pervades everything.
