Eboe Walker

'Eboe Walker (was a mighty fine fiddler player) and now a little black shiny dog.' On the old Andy Griffith 1960's TV show, the Appalachian music mountain clan known as 'The Darlings,' headed up by venerable actor Denver Pyle (in reality the band 'The Dillards,') would sing the 'Ballad of Eboe Walker,' the lyrics starting out 'was a mighty fine fiddler player,' - what a fantastic musical group. My wife named her little dog Eboe Walker to commemorate the all but forgotten folk ballad, and so the picture of Eboe under the blanket. Indeed, he has a great big heart for such a tiny dog. lest we forget our roots, pass the culture down.
