22nd Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Travel
Eagle

A journey to the mountains, a journey to the water, all the way to walk, all the way to memories, thousands of sails to read, may we all meet a better self. Aerial photography of Lake Magadi, coinciding with the rapid transition from the rainy season to the dry season, saw chemical sediments from the bottom of the lake surface as the proportion of the lake's water increased due to the evaporation of fresh water, forming a large number of interrelated patterns. These patterns usually last only a few days. With the arrival of the dry season, large areas of the lake, which are only a few centimeters deep, will turn into dry riverbeds. I was lucky enough to take this opportunity for flocks of flamingos to come and cheer and bestow a fantastic beauty from heaven.
