Drying fish and mending fishing nets
This is a small fishing village in China called Tongjiao, where the villagers make their living from fishing. About a month before the Chinese New Year, the village becomes very busy as many people purchase seafood in preparation for the holiday, stocking up on food for the celebrations. The villagers begin drying fish under the sun, while also mending any damaged fishing nets. The air is filled with the scent of dried fish, and the streets are bustling with activity, as everyone works together to prepare for the festive season. It’s a time of hard work and anticipation, where tradition and livelihood meet in the rhythm of the seasons.
