This image captured a lonely Juniper in front of a rainbow which appears over the sunlit, endless rugged Maze district of Canyonlands National Park. While the desert landscape is covered in a warm light by the setting sun, distant thunderstorms and a rainbow make for a dramatic backdrop close to the Blue Mountains near the horizon. A dramatic welcome after a nerve-wrecking seven hour drive over unpaved trails into the middle of nowhere.
