Devotee
A Gangasagar Mela devotee is a pilgrim who participates in the annual religious gathering at Gangasagar, West Bengal, India. These devotees, drawn from all over the country and beyond, come to take a holy dip at the confluence of the Ganges River and the Bay of Bengal, especially on Makar Sankranti. They believe this ritual cleanses sins and grants spiritual salvation. Clad in traditional attire, many carry offerings, chant prayers, and seek blessings at the Kapil Muni Temple near the site. The mela embodies deep faith and devotion, drawing millions every year.
