21st Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Artistic
Dallas Blues n' Silvers

'The Hard and Flowing Colors of the Dallas.' what u are looking at is what I call a 'Dryscape.'(6 x 4-inch pot). I used to do bonsai but was rotten at it, so I began putting abstract wood and/or rock into bonsai pots, metaphorically akin to putting the Grand Canyon in a Shoe Box. Bonsai concepts say that a universe is contained in a small are with applications for meditation, etc. As Hamlet might say, "O God, I could be bounded in a nutshell and count myself a king of infinite space, were it not that I have bad dreams" (2.2.254-256). However, unlike the gloomy Dane, this is a good dream. "O God, I could be bounded in a nut shell and count myself a king of infinite space, were it not that I have bad dreams" (2.2.254-256). This is Hamlet's response to the suggestion of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern that he is ambitious.
