Cumbiambero (cumbia dancer) at dawn
The cumbiambero is one of the icons of the Barranquilla (Colombia) Carnival. It is the second largest carnival in the world. It is a "Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity", awarded by UNESCO in Paris on November 7, 2003. Nearly 3 million people, including visitors and locals, participate annually in the festival.
