Cliff Swallows nesting in Volcanic Tuff (at angle)
Cliff Swallows have built their nests in Volcanic Tuff, which is made of solidified ash. This outcrop in Oregon is exposed because of a road. The rock face is about four meters tall, with a fence for controlling animals visible on the top.
