The Jaffna area of northern Sri Lanka displayed a microcosm of religious temples. I took a ferry to the Nainativu island, home to Hindu, Muslim and Buddhist temples all in walking distance of each other. A brilliant Buddhist flag unfurled out over a Naga protected entrance near a temple stupa.
