The Victor Catholic Church is located at No. 85 Lvyin Road, Xiashan District, Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, also known as the Xiashan Catholic Church. It is towering, solemn, and surrounded by flowers and trees. It is the only Gothic church in Zhanjiang and one of the key churches in China. Historical Summary Zhanjiang, with a long history, is the largest city in western Guangdong. Due to its proximity to the sea, it had a history of being ruled by Western countries in modern times. In 1899, the urban area of Zhanjiang was "leased" by France, named "Guangzhou Bay" at that time, and foreign trade was once prosperous. In 1943, Guangzhou Bay was occupied by the Japanese army. In 1945, after the victory of the Anti Japanese War, Guangzhou Bay returned and was named "Zhanjiang". Faith is different for everyone, but it cannot be denied that people's faith is their own light and guides their direction for themselves
