September 13, 2020. Abigail Bear is baptized in the Buffalo River. She and another young adult member of The Little Flock Christian Church, a Mennonite congregation, were baptized on the same day here near St. Joe, AR. Many local Ozarks Christian churches have held baptisms in either the Buffalo National River or it's tributaries for as long as any local can remember. These local waterways are the heartbeat of the Ozarks and hold deep meaning for many generations of Ozarks homesteaders.
