Aurora, The Lighthouse Assistant

Aurora in my location is not common. This past year has been very good with the solar maximum approaching. This particular night the aurora was forecast to be strong. I set out to this location hoping it would cooperate and I would be able to get an image close to what was in my mind. Luckily, the aurora did cooperate but only for a few minutes. This was a challenging image to capture as it was on the edge of a very windy high cliff. I was trying to capture images as the clouds were rolling in. When I got home and took a look at this image I was surprised to see that the intensity of the aurora has allowed it to glow right through the clouds, illuminating them in a way which I had never expected or ever seen. It was really amazing to experience this rare event.
