As a Nor'easter approached the New Jersey coast, Wing and Kite surfers took to the sea to catch the powerful winds and catapult off of the turbulent waves. This is a wing surfer airborne and in partial silhouette. Wing surfers hold a small airfoil kite in their hands and use it to propel them forward at breakneck speeds. This speed allows them to rise above the waves with the hydrofoil under the board and to jump off the wave tops for stunts and acrobatics.
