The former Fort Ord Army Post sits abandoned and decaying now. It is fascinating to explore the former buildings, a lot of them wide open for anyone to enter. We found this scene in one of the former barracks buildings, on the first floor. A water fountain, water flowing no more, sits in disrepair, while a bit further behind, down the adjacent walkway, an American flag painting still proudly adorns the decaying walls in a place that once used to teem with life and patriotism.
