A spunky bright green parrot poked its head out from a palm tree hole near Negombo, Sri Lanka

Hollow palm tree trunks provide cozy nests for parrots of the Muthurajawela Wetlands area. Most parrots depend on other birds or animals to poke holes into the hollow. This perky, sociable green parrot flew around landing in its nesting hole. It then poked its head out as if to greet visitors.
