My graduation gift was a trip to the Yellow Mountain--Mt. Huangshan of China. I took this trip with my family, and I'll never forget the look on my parents face when I told them that we were going to wake up at 3 AM to hike to the top of a peak to catch a sunrise. Unsurprisingly, my brother refused to come. To this day, he regrets missing the site of the surreal world that opened up to us as the sun rose that morning, shining its warmth on the landscape around us.
