A Nation in Limbo
On May 17, 2022, an ice cream vendor from the Hazara ethnic group was seen pushing his ice cream cart up a hill in Kabul, Afghanistan. The Hazaras, who are predominantly Shia Muslims, have faced significant discrimination and violence in Afghanistan, particularly under the Taliban regime that took power in August 2021.
