A Nation in Limbo
On June 6, 2021, a construction site for a hospital was observed along the Jalalabad-Kunar Highway in Kunar Province, Afghanistan. The Jalalabad-Kunar Highway is a major road connecting Jalalabad, the capital of Nangarhar Province, to Kunar Province. A man and a boy were seen standing in front of a truck at the construction site. This scene reflects ongoing development efforts in the region, despite security challenges. Kunar Province, located in eastern Afghanistan bordering Pakistan, has been an area of conflict and reconstruction efforts for many years.
