18th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
A green iguana (Iguana iguana) enjoying the sun on Bonaire.

The green iguana (Iguana iguana), also known as the American iguana, is always a interesting subject for wildlife photographers. The reptile is quite common on the island Bonaire in the Caribbean. This reptile differs a lot in color, beautiful green in young age and more grey when getting older. You have to be lucky to get a colorful one, like on this picture, for your camera.
