A residential building complex in the inner city of Kyiv was hit by a missile and got almost fully destroyed, as are another two million residential homes at the current moment. Not just in Ukraine, but globally, wars and natural disaster displace millions of people continuously, destroying their homes and leaving behind astronomical figures of toxic waste. Already we are feeling the detrimental effects of our heavy industries on our climate, natural ecosystems and all living beings. It is becoming a topic to take into consideration the global Sustainable Development Goals in rebuilding efforts. As traditional building materials are creating an increasing problem for our natural environments. The raw materials they are made of are finite. Sand, minerals and coal are not renewable at the speed of our consumption and with the growing need to house humanity, the building industry is one to continue growing and polluting.
